Call for Speakers

We invite you to submit your presentation at ICBB2021. The Call for Speakers is open now. All oral presentations are to be delivered in English, and will be a duration of 20-40 minutes. We will select qualified oral presentations from submitted abstracts after review. More qualified speakers will be announced soon after confirmation. Dr. Intan Safinar Ismail
Head of Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science; Natural Medicine & Products Research Laboratory, Institute Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia
Introduction: She has published around 150 papers in reputed journals and 92 presentations at conferences, led 14 research projects and being invited as speakers/keynote at international meetings. She is an editor for Journal of Natural Medicines, and chairing a few important scientific meetings including Asian Symposium on Medicinal Plants and Spices (ASOMPS) XVII for 2020. Current H-index: 29.
Research Interests: Focus on discovering for the boactive component from natural resources utilizing metabolomics tool and conventional natural product chemistry approach.
Presentation Title: Evidence-based traditional medicinal-plant as biomedicines source

Dr. Mohmad Farooq Shaikh
Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia
Introduction: He is a recipient of Monash's PVC Award for Excellence in Research (2020 and 2018) and Best Publication Award by Malaysian Society of Neuroscience (MSN) in 2017. He is also recipient of Malaysian Society of Pharmacology & Physiology (MSPP) 2019 Best Young Researcher and 2019 Best Young Teacher (Pharmacology) Awards. He is involved in PhD supervision and publishing papers in high impact journals. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, including book chapters in quality journals. Current H-index: 20.
Research Interests: Epilepsy, Post-Traumatic Epilepsy, Gut-Brain-Axis in Epilepsy associated comorbidities, Animal Models, Anticonvulsant Screening, Alzheimer’s disease, Learning & Memory
Presentation Title: Zebrafish As An Alternative Animal Model for Anticonvulsant Drug Discovery


Dr. Ahmed Shihab Albahri
IIPS Institute, University of Information Technology and Communications
Introduction: He has received his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia. He has published 64 research articles in high impact international journals, accumulative citations = 2278, H-index = 33.
Research Interests: AI, MCDM, Data Science, Machine Learning with Medical Informatics, Medical Research methods, Bioinformatics and Health Sciences.
Presentation Title: Growth of Data Science Roles and Decision-Theory for Shaping the Future of Biotechnology and Bioengineering Applications

Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud El-Shazly
Head of Pharmaceutical Biology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, the German University in Cairo, Cairo, Egypt
Introduction: He published more than 140 papers in international journals with more than 3000 citations. Current H-index: 27.
Research Interests: natural products; secondary metabolites with potential biological activities; isolated antioxidant, cytotoxic, hepatoprotective, anti-ulcer and antidiabetic agents from terrestrial plants, microorganisms, and marine organisms. 
Presentation Title: Shedding light on the cytotoxic activity and mechanism of action of heteronemin, a marine sesterterpenoid-type natural product, against LNcap and PC3 prostate cancer cells

Dr. Naveen Vankadari
Research Fellow at Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute and Department of Biochemistry of Monash University.
Introduction: He received his PhD in the fields of biochemistry, structural and molecular cell biology from Academia Sinica and the National Defence Medical Center. He also has robust BioTech industry experience from MerckMillpore as an R&D researcher, and has received several awards and prizes in academia and industrial research.
Research Interests: principally focused on events central to human infection and immunity, structural & functional studies on viral and bacterial proteins involved in infection and challenging human immunity.
Presentation Title: Molecular interplay between SARS-CoV-2 and Human proteins for viral activation and entry, potential drugs and scope for new therapeutics

Dr. Livia Alexandra DINU
National Institute for Research and Development in Microtehnologies (IMT-Bucharest), Bucharest, Romania
Research Interests: electrochemical sensors; nanozymes; graphene-based materials; carbon nanomaterials; biosensors
Presentation Title: Metallic nanoparticles-graphene nanohybrids as artificial enzymes for environmental and biomedical electrochemical applications

Prof. Rachel Amir
Professor and Group head in Migal, Research Group Leader at Plant Metabolism Laboratory, Migal-Galilee Research Institute, Israel.
Introduction: Her research deals with plant biotechnology, with an emphasis on plant metabolism. Her research group focus on two main subjects: A. The metabolism of methionine in plants; B. Elucidation the bioactive compounds in pomegranate fruits and the factors that regulate their content. She is the (co-)author of more than 100 research papers. Current H-index: 31.
Research Interests: the methionine metabolism in plants; the effect of metabolites of aspartate family on the methionine level; the interaction between cysteine and glutathione and methionine metabolism; the metabolic networks in pomegranate fruits; the nature of the bioactive compounds in pomegranate fruits; the metabolism of Broomrape
Presentation Title: Evidence of metabolic competition between methionine and glutathione biosynthetic pathways
