Researechers and scholars are invited to present at ICBB2024. The Call for Speakers is open. English will be the official language, and each oral presentation will be a duration of 20-35 minutes.

More speakers will be announced soon after confirmation. To be a speaker of ICBB2024, please submit your abstract. - Qualified oral presentations will be selected after review from submitted abstracts.

Prof. Cristina Lanni
Associate Professor in Pharmacology, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Pavia, Italy.
Brief Introduction: Starting from the pathogenic mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease (AD), Cristina Lanni studied the molecular characterization of the physiological effects of beta-amyloid on cellular network. She also participated to research new peripheral biomarkers for AD and described the modulation of p53 activity by physiological concentrations of Aβ. At the moment she is researching on molecular players considered involved in complex interactions associated with the inverse correlation between cancer and AD. Her current H-index is 38.
Research Interests: pathogenic mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease, molecular characterization of the hypothetical physiological effect of beta-amyloid, inverse association between cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
Presentatin Title: Misalignment in circadian glymphatic system functionality as a driver of neurodegeneration in DSS-driven colitis model

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh Le
Assistant Professor at the Professional Master Program in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taiwan.
Brief Introduction: He was a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is serving as an editorial board member of prestigious international journals, and has been also serving as a Program Committee Member for more than 40 international conferences since 2017 including GIW/ISCB-Asia 2020, IEEE BIBM 2020, ISMCO 2020, IEEE CBMS 2020, IEEE BIBM 2019, InCoB 2019, IEEE CBMS 2019, IEEE BIBE 2019, etc. His current H-index is 31.
Research Interests: focus on applying AI (machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing) in multidisciplinary studies, especially Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, and Radiomics.
Presentation Title: Computational Prediction of Protein-Ligand Binding Sites: A Cost- Effective and Time-Saving Approach

Dr. Binh Nguyen
Senior Lecturer in Data Science at the School of Mathematics and Statistics in Victoria University of Wellington (VUW), New Zealand.
Brief Introduction: He has strong experience with data science and predictive modeling using deep learning, especially in the highly complex interdisciplinary research he did while working on projects for both academia and industry. In the past, he has won several awards for his work on the development of innovative medical devices and the application of data science to improve healthcare. Since joining Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand - NZ) as a Senior Lecturer in Data Science in 2018, he has been focusing on developing novel methods based on deep learning and graph machine learning to solve emerging problems in health informatics, bioinformatics, and drug discovery. He was the principal investigator of a prestigious project funded by Callaghan Innovation (NZ), aimed at using deep learning to discover new compounds for the treatment of B-cell malignancies. He was also the sole principal investigator of a project with the Singapore Immunology Network to develop a deep learning framework to identify FDA-approved drugs that can be repurposed to treat tuberculosis. In addition, he is a key researcher on other four projects funded by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (NZ) and the NZ Health Research Council with a total amount of more than NZ$18 million. His has an H-index of 20.
Research Interests: data science, machine learning, health informatics, bioinformatics, drug discovery.

Dr. Kumar Pranaw
Department of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology, Institute of Microbiology, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, Poland.
Brief Introduction: Dr. Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warsaw and leading a group working on “Production of biostimulants of crop plant growth/composting/biocontrol agents based on functionalized materials derived from fly ash”. Experienced Agriculture and Environment microbiologist, he specializes in next-generation biofertilizers, reclamation of marginal land, and valorization of agro-waste for value-added products. He has experience in both industrial and academic research at different international repute Institutes/universities in India and Europe. 
Research Interests: Agriculture and Environmental Microbiology.

Dr. Alessia Tropea
Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences, University of Messina, Italy.
Brief Introduction: She has her expertise in fermentation processes for food waste valorization, for obtaining value added products, and in food microbiology. She has years of experience in research, evaluation, and teaching in education institutions. She serves as editor and reviewer for prestigious international journals.

Dr. Teresa Gervasi
Department of Biomedical and Dental Sciences and Morphofunctional Imaging, University of Messina, Italy.
Brief Introduction: She is a senior researcher at University of Messina. Currently, she has productivity published more than 40 papers in ISI journals, and more than 50 oral and/or poster presentations at national and international congresses, with an H-index of 21.
Research Interests: microbial fermentation; by-product valorization; probiotics; gut microbiota; antimicrobial compounds; functional food.
Presentation Title: Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA)-based bioplastic production and functionalisation for the formulation of bio-based food packaging

Dr. Annie FRELET-BARRAND
Department of Micro Nano Sciences and Systems (MN2S), Institut FEMTO-ST.
Brief Introduction: Annie does research in Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Biophysics. Her current project is on production and biochemical and biophysical characterizations of native and synthetic nanovesicles and of biological samples at nano and macroscale.
Research Interests: Production and biochemical and biophysical characterization of biological elements from proteins to mammalian cells ; cloning, expression and functional characterization of membrane proteins in Lactococcus lactis.

Prof. Chiranjib Chakraborty

Brief Introduction: He was a former Professor, Galgotias University, and a former Associate Professor, VIT University. He has 25 years of research experience, including four years of industrial R& D experience and 18 years of teaching experience.  He published more than 182 SCI and Scopus index papers, 5 books, and 2 edited books, has an h-index over 40 and citations over 5700.
Research Interests: Medical Bioinformatics/Immunoinformatics, COVID-19, ncRNA, Drug targets, Genomics and proteomics in medicine, Diabetes, Therapeutics

Prof. Paola Di Donato

Brief Introduction: She currently engaged in the study of extremophiles’ adaptation in real or simulated space conditions; 
study of biological and biotechnological applications of biomolecules (polysaccharides and polyphenols) from agroindustry wastes; study of microbial exopolysaccharides (with particular regard to those from the extremophilic microorganisms); and biogenic synthesis of nanoparticles. Prof. Esaki M Shankar

Brief Introduction: Shankar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, and is serving as the editor of several leading biomedical journals such as Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Microbiology, PLoS One, etc. He published more than 140 papers in peer-reviewed international journals with approximately 4000 citations. Current H-index: 36.
