Naples is the third-largest city in Italy, after Rome and Milan. It's the regional capital of Campania and has a population of 909,048 within the city's administrative limits. 
 
Brief information about Naples: 
  • Location: Naples is located south of Rome.
  • History: Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Bronze Age Greek settlements were established in the Naples area in the second millennium BC.
  • Climate and way of life: Naples has a warm and relaxed climate and way of life.
  • Pizza: Pizza was invented in Naples. It was originally a fast, affordable, tasty meal for working-class Neapolitans on the go.
  • Historic center: Naples has Europe's largest historic center. It has ancient churches, narrow artistic streets, imposing palaces, and unique underground landscapes.

From Rome airport (Rome's Fiumicino Airport, FCO) to Naples:
Napoli Centrale Station (INP) is Naples' main railway station. There are several options to consider, depending on your budget and priorities:
Train: There is a direct train from Rome's Fiumicino Airport (FCO) to Napoli Centrale Station. The trip takes about 1 hour and 55 minutes and runs every day, with trains departing every 30–60 minutes. Tickets start at $18.23 if booked in advance.
 - Intercity trains: Take around 2 hours.
 - Regional trains: Take about 3 hours. The cheapest option is the regional train, taking around 3 hours and 10 minutes. Tickets start from around €14 and can be bought directly at the train station before departure.
 - Fast trains: Take around 1 hour and 50 minutes. The fastest option is the high-speed train (Frecciarossa or Italo). Tickets can be booked online in advance (https://www.trenitalia.com/it.html or https://www.italotreno.it/en/destinations-timetable/rome-tickets). 
 
Other options:
Bus: Several bus companies operate services between Rome Airport and Naples, with journey times ranging from 2 hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes. Tickets start from around €20 and can be booked online or at the bus station. This is a good option if you prefer traveling by bus and want to save some money compared to the train.
Taxi/Private Transfer: For the most direct and comfortable option, you can take a taxi or private transfer directly from the airport to your hotel in Naples. This option is the most expensive, but can be convenient if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or prefer not to use public transportation.

From Naples Airport (NAP) to conference venue:

Napoli Centrale Station (INP) is Naples' main railway station and is located 3 km from Naples Airport (NAP).
Bus: The Alibus Airport Shuttle is a fast, direct bus that runs every 20–30 minutes, Mon–Fri, on weekends, and holidays. The bus stops at the Central Train Station and Naples Molo Beverello Port. The bus costs €1–€5 and takes about 15 minutes.
Train: Travel by rail is a quick and convenient way to reach many local or regional destinations in Italy.
Taxi or private car: Visitors can also choose between the airport bus and a taxi or private car.
Naples Airport has several nearby stations, including: 
 - Ruffo Di Calabria - Aeroporto, a 1-minute walk from the airport
 - Ruffo Fulco Di Calabria, a 2-minute walk from the airport
 - Aeroporto Capodichino, a 3-minute walk from the airport
